Start off '13 with some punk rock...no, not Green Day bro

Take a step back from the awful 80s, the mainstream music of that time, and dive into on of the few good things that came out of from under the massive hair, patterned spandex, large eye glasses, and into some punk rock.

Black Flag - Notable for their song "Nervous Breakdown" and Henry Rollins joining theses punk rock legends.

The Germs - Pat Smear of No Doubt and later Nirvana, tore up his guitar with these classic degenerates.

Agent Orange - Bring on the surfer punk, these guys kill it with their catchy riffs punk rock overtones.

Mono Men - If you haven't heard of them, now is the time to listen and if you like it, then listen to more.

T.S.O.L., Minor Threat, The Misfits, Husker Du, Circle Jerks, Bad Brains, and the list goes on. One of my other favorites are the Melvins as well as Fugazi who start to push punk influences into the 90s.

I hate this word, but 'grunge' and ska came along for the ride as well.
